Pumpkin Princess Stand
When I saw this item in the Target, I thought how creepy! Actually,
there was a whole headless row of them. I had to investigate further.
Indeed it is a pumpkin stand, and I don't know which is scarier, the
headless version, the faceless version, the finished version according
to their instructions, or the version I ended up with. But in my opinion,
they are all tacky.
Included in the package is a stencil for giving your pumpkin a princess
face, and in doing so giving your headless princess a head. (Got that?
Maybe I need to write a song about it.) Anyway, if you look at the links
below, you will discover, as I did, that the stencil is impossibly complicated.
Even if you were able to execute the stencil, as you can see from the
label, the face is not the right size for the body. The third link shows
the face I ended up giving the princess.
In conclusion, I have to state that the scariest thing about the Princess
Pumpkin Stand is the idea that a person would have this on their front
stoop with a lit pumpkin precariously balanced on top, while scores
of rambunctious trick-or-treaters walked by it. Oh, the potential for
disaster! What were the manufacturers thinking?
